The fans at Gamergy

In 2014, xPeke announced his team Origen on the second edition of Gamergy (Madrid, Spain). Origen was present during the third and fourth editions, organizing fan meetings and activities. Even though last weekend, on the fifth edition, xPeke could not be present, Origen’s presence was still there thanks to you.

We want to take a moment to thank you, the fans, for your constant support, even through the hardest times. You are what make Origen so special and we are hoping to show you what we are capable of.

OG Week 5 Analysis

Origen – H2k:
H2k, being one of the favorites in the current split of the LCS, were looking to improve in the standings by beating Origen 2-0. Instead of that, another grinded games by Origen led another victory in game 1 of a series. The team decided on team fight composition around high damage chamions such as Varus and Lucian. Thanks to great area-of-effect spells. Origen were able to control multiple team fights.

In the first half of the game, H2k were slightly ahead by 2k gold. The teams traded turrets across the map and Origen managed to get the advantage in securing dragons. Thanks to that, Origen managed to close out the early lead that H2k had accumulated by getting many picks. Thanks to a great objective control, Origen managed to close out the game in yet another drawn out fashion to win the first map of this best-of-2.

In the second game of the day, H2k was looking to improve. Picking a different composition from champion select, H2k decided on a very polyvalent composition which allowed them to play the team fights and catch some of the Origen members out of position. Yet again, the game started by being quite even but went in the favor of H2k rapidly. They snowballed after a big victory in a team fight, where H2k found four kills on the members of Origen. From there on out, H2k controlled all of the objectives and snowballed out of control. Although Origen managed to win one team fight before the end of the game, H2k closed out the series quickly and both took one point each home.

Origen vs G2 Esports:

After all the ties, and with Enrique “xPeke” Cedeño Martínez still as AD carry, Origen keeps on improving every week. The objective control is better, the team synergy looks more solid and overall, they are improving their decision-making skills. This week they managed to win the first game against G2 Esports. It was a 68 minutes match, in which Origen took the lead since early game, but could not close it quickly due to G2’s defensive team composition. With their strong wave clear (and Jesper “Zven” Svenningsen obtaining a new record with a 946 creep score), they made sure not to make any mistakes so Origen could not finish the game. But the presence of Paul “sOAZ” Boyer with Irelia on solo lanes, pushing and putting up with everything, allowed his team to keep getting objectives and slowly winning the game thanks to a backdoor. It was a long match that left everyone tired, however, in the second game, the composition worked better for G2, playing around Luka “PerkZ” Perković with a strong LeBlanc and ending the day with a tie.

In the long run, we can clearly see Origen’s improvements, and even though getting two ties again may not be the best outcome, it definitely shows that the team is getting better, and that they are ready to give their best from now on.

OG Week 3 Analysis

Origen vs Roccat: 2-0

After two ties last week and more days to train as a team with Enrique “xPeke” Cedeño Martínez as AD carry, Origen entered this week with more determination than ever. In the first game against Roccat, they used a strong teamfight composition, definitely what they needed to stomp from the beginning of the game. Even though Roccat managed to make a comeback, the team never gave up and focused on getting all the objectives showing excellent macro play. One of the keys of the game was Paul “sOAZ” Boyer’s positioning, giving them the victory on a few decisive teamfights with his teleport. On the mid lane, Tristan “PowerOfEvil” Schrage showed his game-changing abilities, dominating the game and the teamfights with Azir.

In the second game against Roccat, they decided to use a poke based composition with the capability of protecting the marksman, Ezreal. It was a good choice, and Origen managed to dominate from early game thanks to Maurice “Amazing” Stückenschneider and his successful ganks with Kindred. Roccat never stood a chance against an Origen stronger than ever this split, doing the right rotations and decisions, taking kills and objectives and making sure that the other team could not get any advantage. It was a fast game and the day ended with two victories.

Origen vs Giants Gaming: 0-2

On Friday they faced Giants Gaming, a team that even though it is usually on the lower part of the standings, recently made some roster changes that improved their synergy. Even though xPeke is performing well, and his presence on the team is beneficial for them due to his leadership capacity, not playing on his main role can still make them not being as comfortable as they can, leading to mistakes that other teams can take advantage of. In both games against Giants, Origen used strong teamfight compositions.

The first game started good for them, allowing them to get ahead from the enemy team. They were able to pressure Giants, taking valuable dragons and avoiding the engages of Gun-woo “Night” Na with Azir, a skilled player to fear on the upcoming rest of the split. Even though they managed to get advantage, Giants Gaming did not allow them to use it when they started to perform better on teamfights. After Amazing showing that his smites can definitely be on point, Origen tried to make the final push, overextending a bit and letting Giants to take some needed kills for them to get back in the game. After another disputed Baron, Giants’ performance was better than Origen’s, and they managed to get the victory.

On the second game, just like in the first one, we could see a strong Giants, and an Origen that stood up for most of the game, but could not overcome their struggles. It was a hard-fought match and both teams took advantage at some points, but in the end, Night’s performance with Lissandra allowed Giants to take more map control.

Overall, this was a good week for Origen in terms of playstyle, despite of the Friday’s defeat. Even though OG had a rough start in this split, every week we see improvements and hopefully, have a similar ending to the Spring Split. Let’s see what week 4 brings us!

Important: Roster Update

With the following brief communication, we would like to announce that due to lack of motivation, Konstantinos “FORG1VEN” Tzortziou will no longer be part of the starting lineup of Origen throughout the rest of the split.

Until we find a suitable replacement ADC, he will be replaced by Enrique “xPeke” Cedeño.

We expect FORG1VEN to find the necessary motivation to regain his passion for the game as soon as possible.

Also, we wish xPeke good luck in this new chapter. He will certainly give it his best as always and we hope for countless surprises and much joy.

Good luck xPeke.

Buena Suerte xPeke!!

Changes in Origen

Today we are very sad to announce the departure of two team members, causing Origen to go through some changes for next LCS split. Here is what XMom told us in regards to these changes:

“For a while there have been rumors that there would be roster changes within the organization. The speculations stated that Zven and Mithy wanted to leave Origen to go to another team.

During that time we could not make any comments, since nothing was set in stone. Upon discussion with the mentioned players to try to keep them with us and then ratify their intentions of playing for team, we began negotiations with the club that was interested in them. These negotiations were long and very challenging but last night we finally reached an agreement. Despite our best efforts to keep the team together, we can now announce that Mithy and Zven will no longer be with us.

It is a sad situation because two comrades are leaving, and difficult because we had very little time to find a pair of great players to replace them.

We are certain that you will love our new players, and as always, we expect you to welcome them and give them all of your support.”
